My name is Kristin Bruce and I am excited to be the school counselor here at Richmond Elementary!  I have my masters in school counseling and have been in education for 26 years.  I look forward to helping your students learn how to communicate their feelings, improve their conflict resolution skills, self-regulate, increase their self-esteem, improve their study skills, and gain information about careers in which they may be interested.  In October, I also teach students about anti-bullying behavior.  Students learn the signs of bullying behavior as well as actions to take if they are bullied or see bullying behavior.  All this is done in individual, small group, and whole class lessons.  All classes also participate in the Second Step curriculum and Xello Career Guidance Lessons.

In addition, I am also the leader of the Anchored 4 Life club, where students welcome new students, take leadership roles in the school, and learn lessons on resilience and other topics.  The club also participates in a yearly community project that benefits the school and community of Ridgecrest.
